Although I was fairly swamped with work this past weekend, I somehow managed to take the time to go see PAX East, the huge gaming convention and general geekfest organized by Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins of Penny Arcade fame. Kelly’s brother Matt came up from Philadelphia and joined Patricio and I as we indulged ourselves in a geek’s paradise – specifically, a gaming geek’s paradise. So go no further if you have a low tolerance for that sort of thing.
I’m really tired. I’m not quite brain dead/crispy fried/toasted/speaking gibberish like I was on Saturday and Sunday nights, but I’m not far off.
Ok, so remember how I said about Nathan that someday I’ll be able to say I knew him when? I can already say that about my friend Dave.
This was sent to me by the always fabulous Amanda. It was tweeted by the one and only Nichelle Nichols and was taken in the Oval Office on 2/29/12. Yes, I’m going to make you click through to see it, it’s that good.
Those two little words seem so insignificant in the face of the overwhelming response we’ve received from, quite literally, all over the world.
It has been a hell of a day. Late last night, or early this morning in all actuality, Smoky died in my arms. He was twelve years old.
Regular readers will have noticed that I mentioned that Geoff and I missed a friend’s Very Important Play on Friday night when Smoky took ill. I emailed him to explain and apologize, but it’s never as good as being there. I know I hate it when my friends miss my performances, even when they have a really good reason. Thankfully someone was able to videotape the experience, and in HD no less.
