Kelly and I went to church today and followed a fairly regular schedule for the first time in a good while. She had been working a lot of shifts this past week that kept her out late (last night until after 1 AM), and I have been trying to get caught up on all of the housework that got neglected in the weeks before the wedding.
And we finally got the Christmas tree up! We haven’t got any of the decorations up yet, but we at least got the tree put up and lights on it. Scratch made his initial discovery of the tree, but has not made his first trip up into the branches yet. I thought he was going to a few minutes ago, but then he didn’t. Maybe that he he is older and more mature (cough) he won’t want to do that anymore. Perhaps his medication affects his need to become part of the holiday decorations.
Speaking of holidays, yesterday was the first time in my life that I ever played Santa. I put on the red suit, along with the absolutely stifling big beard, wig, and hat, for a pet rescue charity that was doing photos of Santa with pets at a local pet store. It was actually good fun except for the heat. It felt like my head was in a frying pan. If I can get a copy of a shot I will put it up.
