Also known as, “This is why we can’t have nice things.”

We have learned not to put valuable, important, precious, or otherwise irreplaceable items on the mantle or other shelves where the cats can go.  We’ve learned that the cats can, in no particular order, get inside closed kitchen cabinets, climb book cases, leap 6 feet straight up into the air, and even run hard enough into tall heavy furniture to knock things from it.

And that’s the short list.

I’ve never met Simon or his cat, but I feel like we’re kindred spirits.  And, I think that maybe his cat is related to Scratch.
