I haven’t been getting too many emails lately about other people having concerts this summer, so I’ve mostly been posting my own stuff. Lucky for you, I can now post an opportunity for you to get in on before the downbeat.
The Mercury Orchestra is the group I did my recent concert with. They’re great and their conductor is a real star. In August they’re performing a Ravel concert and it includes Daphnis et Chloé. As with Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin, there is a part for wordless chorus. Also like the performance of The Miraculous Mandarin, Mercury will be performing it in complete form, with the chorus.
If you’re interested in singing in this performance check out the information page at the Mercury website here. There are only four rehearsals including the dress. Not a bad time commitment for making some really beautiful music.
If you’re not interested in singing but want to attend the concert, you can do that, too. The tickets are available here.
