Concerts you should know about

Summer is over, so there is more music making coming your way than there has been the last few months.  News landed in my inbox today from two friends about upcoming concerts.  I hope you’ll find time to attend.

From Josh Lawton, news about brass at St. Peter’s in Central Square.

The Fenway Brass are coming to Central Square
The Fenway Quintet is coming to Central Square

The next concert for the Fenway Quintet at St. Peter’s is on Friday September 20th at 7:30 pm.  It sounds like a great lineup.  Admission is by suggested donation of $10 and is available at the door.

Also in the news today is Matthew Hall.  He brings tidings of a violin and harpsichord concert in Boston on Saturday September 21st.

Virtuoso Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord
Bach, Handel, Telemann, and Pisendel
Saturday, Sept 21, 8:00 PM
Church on the Hill
140 Bowdoin St.
Tickets: $20/15 (available at the door)

This is, apparently, the first of several concerts that will feature a Bach sonata for violin and obbligato harpsichord .  The violinist is Dorian Komanoff Bandy.

Enjoy!
