You’ve probably seen me write in this space before about Meravelha concerts. Teri Kowiak is the founder and as I write this I’m sitting next to Tim, one of the fabulous singers in the group. I’ve had the pleasure of working front of house for Meravelha and listening to them rehearse and perform and I have to tell you, they don’t suck. In fact, they’re really, really, good. Apparently I’m not the only person who thinks this. In fact, there are more than a few people who think this.
Now, you can join them and it won’t cost you a thing.
Opus Affair has a fundraising nomination board for local arts orgs. It’s a kind of popularity contest that helps support the groups involved. Right now there are a lot of orgs on the board, but Meravelha is in the lead. The lead is slim, but they’re in the lead nonetheless. This is where you come in. Go and vote for them. This could potentially be huge publicity and a great chance for them to raise some much needed cash. How often do you get to help fund raise for an organization without having to spend any money, go anywhere, or do anything embarrassing? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
