Despite rampant speculation that the next book in A Song of Ice and Fire would be released next year, it appears now that is not the case, after an announcement was made by GRRM’s publisher.
Well.
Of course, I am a little disappointed. Not angry or anything, really, but just a bit sad. I am really looking forward to the next book, and it sure would be great to be able to get a copy for my birthday or something. Still, I understand if George has not yet been able to finish. There is certainly a lot of stuff to cover.
At least season five starts in less than three months, so I have something to look forward to at least. And although I have not yet seen it, I have heard a lot about the trailer for Season Five that is being shown in IMAX theaters with the big-screen presentations of episodes 9 and 10 of season 4. I am definitely looking forward to that too.
In the meantime I will have to amuse myself with speculation over theories, and with attending one of those IMAX shows.
