The orchestra will perform two summer concerts in 2014, in Sanders Theatre, Cambridge, MA.

August 16, 2014:

CHORALE AUDITIONS

The Mercury Orchestra Chorale is a 80-member all-volunteer chorus which is the primary choral collaborator of the Mercury Orchestra.
In 2014 the Mercury Orchestra Chorale will perform Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 (“Resurrection”) on Saturday, July 19, 2014, in Sanders Theatre, Cambridge, MA. Because of the abbreviated rehearsal schedule, the Chorale is best suited for singers who can prepare the score on their own.

Auditions for new members will be held in June 2014. All auditions are by appointment. For the audition, please prepare a 2-4 minute classical piece (art song, opera aria, or choral selection) in any language (German preferred). We will provide an accompanist; please bring an additional copy of the music for the accompanist. Current active members of selected area choral ensembles may be able to join the Chorale without an audition.

These concerts can be a lot of fun.  I’ve performed many times with them over the years and in various iterations of the Mercury Orchestra.  You should check them out.
