#WheresRory goes to @HarvardMuseum- The Glass Flowers part 2/2

Well, Rory has seen a lot in is trip at HMNH.  It’s taken four previous posts that you can view here, here, here, and here.  This is the last in the HMNH series.  Rory had a very busy day, but, as you’ll see, he got quite a sendoff from the staff when it was time to go home.

But first, more flowers.

Ok, technically, cacti. Either way, they're really cool.

I love how the bananas are labeled FRUIT. Awesome.

Oops, I think I cropped out the label.  You’ll just have to trust me and Rory on that one.

Yes, the entire palm frond is made of glass.
Yes, the entire palm frond is made of glass.

And that’s the end of Rory’s glass flower adventure.  As there are about 4,000 glass flowers in the collection and the exhibit space is about to be renovated, there will be new specimens going on display throughout the Winter and into the Spring when the gallery is reopened.  If you can make it in person to check it out Rory and I highly recommend it.

And as for Rory, the staff couldn’t let him leave without a proper send off.  As they deal with taxidermied animals quite a bit, they have a few special signs that they use when moving them about or when removing them for rehab.  Rory got the special treatment before heading home.

That grin is awesome but we can argue over "aesthetically pleasing."

And finally:

"Biologically improbably" I'll give you.

“Terrifying to small children” requires some test subjects.  That might be another post.

With the biologically improbably Rory signing off from HMNH,

    1. Yeah, the bear was pretty good. Though I have to tell you, it probably took about 45 mins to take all those pictures. It helps that I know the place inside out and knew pretty much exactly where I wanted to go. The hardest part was finding another raccoon mount.
