Over the last couple of days, we had our first nor’easter since we moved to Winthrop. The storm caused wind speeds here near the coast to pick up quite a bit, and as result there was a pretty heavy surf along the beaches here too.

The northern road out of Winthrop is along a seawall, and so while we were driving along it this morning we noticed that there were a lot of whitecaps, and we could see waves breaking over the seawall in a few places. There was a lot of seawater in the road, but not enough to close it, I guess. The waves were even coming high enough over the wall to cover the car. See?

Anyway, while I drove Kelly took some video just as we stopped at a traffic light.
Later this morning Kelly called me to tell me that CNN had tweeted at us and wanted to use her video.
@KellyandGeoff Is this your video? If so, do you give CNN permission to use it on all its platforms & affiliates in perpetuity?

Not long after that, NBC tweeted at us and also wanted to use it.
@KellyandGeoff I work for NBC News. You record this video? If yes, can NBCU use on all its platforms and partners? https://t.co/wvfLw1pZYB

So if you see any videos on CNN or NBC that look like the one Kelly shot above… well, it may just be her video after all.
