Family dinner outing

Yesterday we had a bit of a family get-together, probably the first one Kelly and I have attended since Christmas.  My parent flew into town and they will be in New England for over two weeks.  So a large group of us went out to dinner at this place called The Chateau in Andover.

Apparently it’s a local chain, but I had never been there and neither had Kelly.  But my Aunt Donna suggested it and so we looked at the menu and said “oh yeah let’s go there”.  It did not disappoint.  The food was great and we got to hang out for a while and enjoy everyone’s company.

Two sisters – Aunt Pauline and my mom.
Two more siblings – Aunt Donna and my dad.
Kate, before her sugar rush. That’s an IBC Root Beer.

I had the chance to have some shellfish (I have plenty of whitefish still from my fishing trip) so I grabbed me some scallops, shrimp, and lobstah.  Kelly had some sort of gnocchi that was really good.  The kids had food they liked, plus some soda.  Now, I am a fan of root beer, and have been ever since I was a little kid.  It is, by far, my favorite non-caffeinated, non-alcoholic beverage.  But after some root beer and the ensuing sugar rush, the kids were a little bouncy.

And yet two more siblings – Kate and Ben, who in addition to having too much sugar have apparently read too much Calvin & Hobbes.

We have several more family outings in the next couple of weeks, including a big clam boil (I am really looking forward to that) this next Saturday.  So there are more pictures to come.
