Regular readers know that we’re animal lovers here. We have cats and dogs here at Casa Dachshund, despite the name, and we love all animals.* That’s why this new project by Matthew Inman of The Oatmeal fame is so cool. This is, as he explains on the website, a form of cat atonement (catonement) for recently Kickstarting a super successful game called Exploding Kittens. Really.
As millions of people have seen this via Facebook and Twitter, you may have seen this elseweb already. But we know that there are some of you reading this who haven’t seen it yet. So we’re doing our part to spread the word. We’re hoping you’ll do the same. The goal of this project it to improve the abysmally low rate of indoor cats who escape and get returned home from 5% to something, well, anything better. Details are below.
And that’s pretty much it. There are images, below, you can use with the artist’s permission to make/remake into shirts, website artwork, etc.
The link to the hi-res/PDFs of the images is also available for those with mad skills. I think I might need to make an End Cat Nudity shirt. For posterity.
If you need a cool orange collar, the Exploding Kittens team has those too. Check it out.
You can get them right from Amazon.
I, for one, would like to see all shelter cats come home with bright orange collars, a gift certificate for a free tag, and, if it isn’t done already, microchipping. It should get to the point where every cat in every window has a bright orange collar on.
And for, ahem, special cats like our Scratch, a harness as well.
