Time for some GoT escapism…

because the real world has been just awful lately.  Terrible.  Horrible.  I just can’t bring myself to talk more about it because it’s just too depressing.  Things just get worse and worse rather than better.

So yeah, let’s talk about Westeros – the North in particular, although I am sure I will wander around to other places at some point.

Well. I had wondered why they called this episode “The Door”.

I really didn’t know.

I had suspected that it would have something to do with the door to the House of Black and White, or maybe the door to the Great Sept of Baelor, or something along those lines.  The actual meaning and significance of the name, and which door it meant, is something I could never have guessed in a million years.

Sigh… I miss Game of Thrones

It really hasn’t been that long since Season 4 ended, but it feels like it has been an eternity.  I guess I had not fully appreciated how much I looked forward to watching Game of Thrones every Sunday, but there were times when it was practically the highlight of my week.  I miss having that weekly thing to look forward to watching with Kelly.

So in the meantime I have been finding all sorts of ASOIAF/GoT things to keep myself entertained.

Yes, some filler has been added to GoT

Last night’s episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones (First of His Name) definitively proved three things:

1) Hodor is awesome.

2) Brienne and Pod may well be the next Tyrion and Bronn in terms of comedy on the show.

3) One important ASOIAF character from the books may not ever make an appearance on the GoT television show.
