On not giving a damn

Disclaimer: Geoff loathes this movie and book upon which it is based.  That’s not why I am posting it here.  That’s just a bonus.  (Love you, sweetie.)

The scene above is important for one really major reason.  For all of their ups and downs and crazy drama, Rhett no longer cares for Scarlett.  At all.  He doesn’t love her, he doesn’t hate her, he just doesn’t care.

This is probably where I should warn you that this post is about unpleasant things.  Trauma, PTSD, abuse – a lot of stuff.  Turn back here should you need to.  Likewise, for a variety of reasons, what I’m going to write may be a bit opaque with oblique references.  This is necessary.  I apologize for the confusion.

Friday November 11th, 2016 7:00pm @BU CFA – A FREE Concert Featuring Me!

It’s that time of year again.  The When Patients Heal You concert is back.  Only this year we’ve moved out of the lecture hall at the BU Medical Center and we’re back at my alma mater, Boston University.  In fact, we’ll be performing in the concert hall where I did my undergraduate recital lo these many years ago.

patients-heal-you-2016-ad

It will be much like years past, all the performers will be neurology patients of Boston Medical Center and many of them will be epileptics like me.  We’ll all get to perform two pieces and probably bring the house down at the end with big sing a long with Denise at the keyboard.

There’s usually a reception afterward with tasty food and a chance to mingle with the performers and the medical staff who not only provide us with excellent care, they sometimes even perform with us.  Please join us on Friday night for a great concert and a lot of fun.  This is a free event.  Tell your friends.

Support Cambridge Local Businesses and Win Great Prizes!

I received this email from Cambridge Local First and I think it’s GREAT idea.  Certainly this winter weather, now record breaking, has been hard on all of us.  But it has been especially hard on local business who don’t have a national or international infrastructure over which they can spread the cost and losses.

Join Cambridge Local First in this innovative and fun way to bring some of the lost revenue back into our local community.  And, if you’re one of our readers who isn’t local to the greater Boston area, give your own local businesses some love.  Shop, eat, bank, and do business locally!

It’s that time of year again, crunch time for shopping for friends, family, roommates, and that annoying Office Yankee Swap.  Have no fear!  I have your solution.

December 6th, 2014

I have two shows coming up, my last two shows of the year.  The first is 11:00am – 5:00pm at First Church in Jamaica Plain.  This show has been going on forever and is beloved among JP residents.  Get there early, the good stuff goes fast!

Craft Fair ad 2014Also, the good people at First Church will be doing a canned food drive as well as a drive for gloves, hats, scarves and new men’s socks for patrons of the food pantry.  If you have any of those items, no other clothing items please, bring them with you to help brighten someone’s holiday.

I am really looking forward to my first show with the good folks at First Church in JP.  I hope to see you on Saturday.

December 13th, 2014

Then, on Saturday December 13th, I’ll be in a completely different venue and there will be free wine.  That’s right, I’ll be at the Brookline Liquor Mart and there will be wine tastings all day as well as a group of local craft vendors selling all sorts of items from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.

BLM2014The folks at Brookline Liquor Mart have added this Art Fair to their extensive list of December offerings.  Come by and check us out.  It’s sure to be a great time.  And, I’ll have wine charms for sale.

I hope to see you at one or both of these great events!

This may rank as one of the more unusual shows I’ve done to date.  Also, I know I don’t have any plaid to wear.  And I do not own cowboy boots.  But, I think it is going to be really fun.  And tasty.  Really tasty.

Crafts, Food, Beer & Cider.  Om, nom, nom.  Come join us.

Boston & Cambridge area people- big freecycle event in July

Harvard University and the Harvard Square Farmer’s Market are having a huge freecycle event on July 8th, 2014 on the Plaza in front of the Science Center.  There will be tons (ok, maybe not tons, it depends on how much is donated) of stuff there for people to take and reuse.

Donations will be accepted as early as 9:00am.  Details on the website are here.  You can bet I’m going to be there to drop off the growing pile of stuff Geoff and I have in our “To Donate” corner of the guest room.
