Mystery Gift

Hi folks,

We received a mystery gift in the mail today and we’re hoping someone out there will identify themselves as the gift giver.  It’s a digital weather station of the variety where you put the detector outside somewhere and the little digital readout indoors.  It has a 300 foot radius (!) and it is made by Ambient, LLC.

Our wedding photo site

Hi everyone,

I have reason to believe that I am going to have a LOT of photographs coming my way.  Video as well, but a LOT of photos from this wedding and everything leading up to it.  Therefore, I have created a photo and video share site on Shutterfly.  If you have photos or videos to share please go ahead and upload them there.

The URL for the site is http://ourweddingnovember2011.shutterfly.com/ and you can upload directly to the site or you can email pictures to the site via the email address ourweddingnovember2011@sfly.com.  Please feel free to send things directly there rather than sending them to us, it will be easier for us to parse them that way and to decide what we want to do with them.

If you have anything of questionable content or a truly horrible photo of one of us (read: me) then feel free to ask first.  There is currently only one photo on the site, so feel free to send on over anything you have from the Bachelor party, the Bachelorette party, the decorating of the reception space, etc.

Thanks, everyone.

~Kelly

ETA: This is important!  I can make a folder for you and then you’ll get a personalized email address to which you can send your photos.  That way you don’t have to log in to shutterfly, create an account, or figure out how to upload without creating a login.  This is EXTREMELY easy for me to do so if you’d like me to do it PLEASE just let me know and I’ll set it right up.

Porcupines do not throw their quills, and Kevin Smith owes us residuals

One interesting feature of WordPress is that is shows us how people find our site, either through links or search terms.  And for some reason, certain search terms steer people to our blog more often than others.  I have no idea why.  One of these searches involves porcupine quills, and the other involves Kevin Smith and his dachshund, Schecky.  I have no idea what the porcupine thing is about, unless it is one of Kelly’s Etsy or Regretsy things.  But the Kevin Smith thing I know about.   Seriously, we have become a subsidiary of Kevin Smith’s publicist or something with all the searches that lead here.  It’s cool though, because we like him, and we like dachshunds, and we like his dachshund.   So he gets some free publicity from us, and in a certain way we get some free publicity from him.  It’s all good.

Since we haven’t talked about the animals in a while…

Smoky is doing much better.  It’s strange to see how much weight he has lost since he got really sick.  He seems so much happier now.  You can actually see some of his little bald patches filling in now, and his chicken legs are growing fur back on them too.  Right now he is lying at my feet as I use the Furminator on him – purring, twitching his tail slightly, and kneading with his front paws –  just as content as can be.

It’s official, I’m blogging about our blog

Neither of us is exactly sure what happened today, but for some reason we’ve had 189 hits today.  So far.

8pm on November 5th at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Central Square

For anyone who might be in town early for the wedding or who lives in the area, please come!  My bridesmaid, Nicole, has a solo and the music is tremendously fun.  I get to sing alto for the concert and I am having a blast.  ~Kelly
