What will this year’s winter be like?

I have been reading some of the long-range forecasts for this upcoming fall and winter.  Generally speaking, it seems they are predicting a pretty mild fall with temperatures above normal, and then it looks like this winter will most definitely not be like last winter.

Summer storm insanity

Yesterday I worked all day in Boston and then headed to a security gig down the street in Beacon Hill.  When I left the house that morning, they said there was a slight chance of rain later in the day.  I think it was something like 20%.  So I had my little umbrella with me, thinking that I would be fine since I did not have too far to walk.

Well, the weather got a little interesting just after I got to my security job.

My Civil War Walking Tour for Historic New England

Hello everyone.  I have been meaning to put up a link to the new tour that will be led by yours truly, so here is the link to the first one, which will be on September 22nd.  That day is the 150th anniversary of the issuing of the Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, so it is a pretty appropriate day, I think.    If you have the time, come on out and learn some history with me.
