Christmas Card 2014

We’re back at it again this year, we’re ~~saving on postage~~ being environmentally friendly and putting our Christmas Card online. There’s also the time factor. It took me more than 8 hours to wrap the Christmas gifts that are being shipped to 3 places in two other states and being handed out here in MA. Actually mail merging the labels for the over 100 names on our list, labeling, signing and then mailing the cards (maybe not in that exact order) is WAY more time than I have. So, an hour or so of photo editing it is.

And so, I give you, our 2014 Christmas Card.

Last Two Jewelry Shows of 2014 – Buy Local!

It’s that time of year again, crunch time for shopping for friends, family, roommates, and that annoying Office Yankee Swap. Have no fear! I have your solution.

December 6th, 2014

I have two shows coming up, my last two shows of the year. The first is 11:00am – 5:00pm at First Church in Jamaica Plain. This show has been going on forever and is beloved among JP residents. Get there early, the good stuff goes fast!

Also, the good people at First Church will be doing a canned food drive as well as a drive for gloves, hats, scarves and new men’s socks for patrons of the food pantry. If you have any of those items, no other clothing items please, bring them with you to help brighten someone’s holiday.

I am really looking forward to my first show with the good folks at First Church in JP. I hope to see you on Saturday.

December 13th, 2014

Then, on Saturday December 13th, I’ll be in a completely different venue and there will be free wine. That’s right, I’ll be at the Brookline Liquor Mart and there will be wine tastings all day as well as a group of local craft vendors selling all sorts of items from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.

The folks at Brookline Liquor Mart have added this Art Fair to their extensive list of December offerings. Come by and check us out. It’s sure to be a great time. And, I’ll have wine charms for sale.

Yes this Friday night! I’m singing in a FREE concert at the BU Medical Center. There will be a reception afterward, and fun will be had by all.

So a book came out this week, you may have heard…

I may have mentioned in this space that Amanda Palmer had a book publishing this week. Geoff and I were lucky that we were able to go to the midnight book release party of of her first literary offering, The Art of Asking. The party was on Monday night, the books were sold/picked up at midnight, and fun was had by all. Because Geoff’s back was Behaving Badly, we weren’t able to join everyone in the concert/parade from Harvard Square to Porter Square, but we did get to meet some very cool people while we waited at Porter Square Books and sampled the hot cider.

Oh, and as Geoff mentioned here, he also got his picture taken with Neil Gaiman.

Roslindale Open Studios 11/1 & 11/2

I’m lucky to be participating in Roslindale Open Studios this year. This is the 10th year of ROS and they’re a great group to work with. If you want to start your Christmas shopping with some handmade items and also want the chance to look around Roslindale, take a bike tour, and sample some craft food and beverage, the first weekend in November is it!

Celebrate the Season!

No, not that season. The one we’re in right now. Autumn.

Somerville is celebrating the final SomerStreets of the year on Sunday October 19th with the Monster Mashed UP Festival. Major streets will be closed, ghosts and goblins will walk among us, and fun will be had by all. Also, there will be pumpkins, face painting, a parade, costume contests (for pets and their people) and, you’ve probably guessed it by now, craft vendors.

I’ll be there in my tent with all sorts of things to tempt you. Things that make great host gifts, things that make gifts for yourself, and yes, things that make great holiday gifts as well.

Details are here. Please come! It’s a rain or shine event. We’re hardy New Englanders after all, and this is only Autumn. Winter is, as they say, still coming.
