Buying things off the Internet can be fun and economical. It can also be infuriating, frustrating, maddening, and make you want to throw furniture.

Fab.com does it again
During today’s steady stream of email, this one made me laugh. This is from an artist who does modern quasi advertising art and political mockery in the style of 30’s through 50’s advertising. And, it is quite good.
Australia Day
Apparently Australia Day was yesterday. I was not aware of this until I received an email from Etsy entitled From The Land Down Under. (And if that doesn’t instantly give you an 80’s ear worm, nothing will.)
This photo is not what you think it is…
A picture is worth a thousand words
When the picture is done properly.
I used to work in the retail and online auction industry. In fact, sometimes I was responsible for actually taking the pictures and photo editing them so that they could be put up online to sell stuff. That’s why when this photo showed up in my inbox the other day I literally had to do a double take.
Happy Friday the 13th
When each Friday the 13th rolls around I know I’m going to get a version of the following email from the good folks at Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. If you don’t know who they are, click on over and spend some good quality time there. They sell amazing fragrances and things made from essential oils and their Black Phoenix Trading Post has some outstanding items, especially jewelry. Go ahead. I’ll wait.

I really thought this was a joke
I originally saw this a few days ago in an email from Fab.com. It’s one of those daily sale sites that sends you an email every day, only their sales last a few days and they sell everything from antiques to small handicraft type stuff. Then then there’s this stuff. Foofy home decorating stuff for really… particular audiences.
Wedding shopping – not mine!
Last month our dear friends Teri and Patricio got engaged. I’d actually cornered Patricio at my wedding and asked him when he and Teri were going to get engaged. I think they’ve been together for approximately 6 centuries now and it was getting harder and harder for me not to refer to them as betrothed.
It’s the end of the world as we know it?
Perhaps Geoff’s obsession with Zombie Apocalypses and similar things is finally rubbing off on me. Or maybe it’s that the world is going to end a year from now.
