Most of you know that I stay out of warm climates whenever possible. Therefore it seems utterly insane that I left Boston today, in the middle of a snowstorm (Ursula was her name) to fly to Dallas. Intentionally. Where it was 80 degrees.

Happy Saturday!
Today Geoff and I will be taking part in the 43rd annual Heritage Craft Fair. This fair is a fundraiser for the Heritage Chorale.
The Facebook event is here. There is an entry fee as a part of the fundraiser, $4.00 general adults, $3.50 for seniors and free for children up to 12. All on one level with easy handicapped access.

We’re about to depart for Framingham. We’ll be there 10am-4pm today.
See you there!

In an unlikely combination that could probably only happen in Boston and, specifically, only in Somerville. Geoff and I combined an evening of tasty Tibetan cuisine with a Zombie Opera for our Valentine’s outing.
Really.
You know, there are some new operas that just don’t interest me that much. There’s something uninspired or over academic about some of the stuff that I’ve seen recently that has left me cold.
Then Teri* told me she was auditioning for a Zombie Opera. And I was intrigued.
Come join me and a whole bunch of great vendors at the market from which LIFL gets their name. The Local is for Lovers Valentine’s Day market at Arts at the Armory in Somerville on Sunday, Feb 7th from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Somerville Local First does great work getting local artisans and small businesses in front of local folks. Come join us on Sunday and Shop Local!

Hi All,
My friend and fellow musician Dave Thorne Scott brings us news of 3 upcoming Jazz concerts right in and around Cambridge that are T accessible and will be super fun. Check them out. An email from Dave is below.

Yes, we know that at midnight tonight you’ll be dressed up and in a theatre seeing Star Wars. (We’re waiting to see it with our nephews and niece after Christmas.) But, this is some of the stuff that we’re reading right now. We think you should be reading it too.
Regular readers know that we’re animal lovers here. We have cats and dogs here at Casa Dachshund, despite the name, and we love all animals.* That’s why this new project by Matthew Inman of The Oatmeal fame is so cool. This is, as he explains on the website, a form of cat atonement (catonement) for recently Kickstarting a super successful game called Exploding Kittens. Really.
As much as I try to pretend otherwise, it is November. And while this does mean that there is a lot of really good music happening this month, it also means that it’s time for Holiday Craft Show Season to really get underway. My schedule is packed with great shows. If you need gifts for people who are interesting, quirky, hard to shop for, or just want something one of a kind, look no further.
Seriously, click on that link below. It’s right down there.
